
TOM
PRIN TRIO
The
Tom Prin Trio, piano, bass and drums, was formed in 1971. The trio
plays mostly in an easy listening jazz style. Program is chosen
from: show tunes, popular songs, folk tunes and classical repetoire.

Theater in Excelsior, MN, three concert performances from 2002-2003,
Guthrie
Theater, Minneapolis, MN, four performances in the 1970's,
Fitzgerald
Theater in St. Paul, MN, two performances in the early 1990's,
Community
Concert tours of the upper midwest, nearly every year, fall &
spring, since 1975.
The State
of Minnesota Arts Board tour and performances for the Twin Cities
Jazz Society in the 1970's.
Tom Prin - Piano
Tom is a lifelong musician and educator. He learned popular piano
from his father Toby
Prin while in high school.
Formal schooling included a music teaching
degree from MacPhail Music College and graduate school in Theory
& Composition at Mankato State. He studied classical piano privately
with Gary Sipes.
Tom was an instructor in Jazz and Popular
music at Minneapolis Community College for fifteen years. He was
also an instructor in jazz piano and Theory at St. Olaf College
in Northfield for seven years.
Tom's easy going, light personal style carries
over into his music. Audiences find him very personable and his
performances are always artistic, musical and fun.
Bruce Calin - Bass
Bruce is your prototypical "all around" Bass player. He is knowledgable
and comfortable in almost any style of music and any performance
situation. Bruce has played with some of the nations best musicians.
Pianist Manfredo Fest and Cliff Brunzell's Golden Strings are just
two of many.
Bruce
is a graduate of Macalaster college in St. Paul. He has worked with
Tom Prin for concerts, recordings and club dates since 1981.
He now
resides in Oak Run, California, outside of Redding.
Bruce
Wintervold-Drums & Percussion
Bruce studied drums with Marv Dahlgren, percussionist with the Minnesota
Orchestra, and at the University of Minnesota.
He has
played shows, club dates and concerts in the Twin Cities area since
the late 60's. Latin and Salsa rhythms are his specialty.
Bruce
has been with Tom Prin since 1994.
