TOM
PRIN TRIO
The
Tom Prin Trio, piano, bass and drums, was formed in 1971. The
trio
play in an easy listening jazz style. Program is chosen
from: show tunes, popular songs, folk tunes and classical repetoire.

Old
Log Theater in Excelsior, MN, three concert performances from
2002-2005,
Guthrie
Theater, Minneapolis, MN, four performances in the 1970's,
The
State of Minnesota Arts Board tour and performances for the Twin
Cities Jazz Society in the 1970's
Fitzgerald
Theater in St. Paul, MN, two performances in the early 1990's,
Community
Concert tours of the upper midwest, nearly every year, fall &
spring, 1975 to 2007.
Tom Prin -Bio
Tom is a lifelong musician and educator. He learned popular piano
from his father Toby
Prin while in high school.
Formal schooling included a music teaching
degree from MacPhail Music College and graduate school in Theory
& Composition at Mankato State. He studied classical piano privately
with the late Gary Sipes.
Tom taught jazz piano at MacPhail School
of Music in the early 70's.
He was an instructor in Jazz and Popular
music at Minneapolis Community College from
1975 to 1990. And he was
also an instructor in jazz piano and Music Theory at St. Olaf
College in Northfield for seven years.
Tom's easy going, light personal style carries
over into his music. Audiences find him very personable and his
performances are always artistic, musical and fun.
